HOUSTON, TX – Today, Terri Burke endorsed Chris Hollins to serve as the next Mayor of Houston. The former ACLU of Texas executive director highlighted the importance of executive leadership in her endorsement. 

“I’m endorsing Chris Hollins for mayor because his executive experience managing large-scale operations and transforming organizational culture is critical to moving Houston forward,” said Burke. “Our next mayor must maintain strategic focus in today’s political environment to safeguard the rights of Houstonians, and Chris is the only candidate who has demonstrated this capability on a major stage.”

Terri Burke served as executive director of the ACLU of Texas for nearly 13 years. She also had a 32-year career in journalism, including positions at Dallas Morning News, Abilene Reporter-News, and Austin American-Statesman. Born and raised in Houston, Terri served as board president of the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors association and the Quality of Place Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership. An adjunct professor of journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, she is a member of the Philosophical Society of Texas.

These leaders joined more than 300 charter members in launching Women for Hollins, a grassroots organization that will power the Hollins campaign to victory and remain front and center in the Hollins administration.
